God is making His official Broadway debut, and it’s not in Mormon! A stage adaptation of The Last Testament: A Memoir By God by The Daily Show head writer and executive producer David Javerbaum is in the works. The show is set to take the Great White Way by storm in 2015, just in time for Judgment Day.
The creative team and casting will be announced at a later date. (No word yet on whose body God will "borrow" for the show). God said in a statement through His press agent (no, really): “This play will help clear up the fallacy that I’m old-fashioned and holier-than-thou and instead reveal the true Me: up-to-date and holier-than-you.” Jeez, God.
Over the course of his long and distinguished career, God has literally seen it all. And not just seen. In fact, the multitalented deity has played a pivotal role in many major events, including the creation of the universe, the entirety of world history, and the co-creation (with his son) of The Walking Dead. Sometimes preachy, sometimes holier-than-thou, but always lively, The Last Testament is the ultimate celebrity autobiography.
